According to psychologist Gloria Marsellach “cognitive-behavioral therapy is often effective,” the objectives will be to restore the proper eating habits and that the patient obtains a satisfactory body image.

Individual therapy is needed to talk to the patient of the problems associated with self-esteem and its relationship with self-image.

In some cases when it is young family therapy is recommended.

Education on nutrition and exercise
