Child Trauma and stress associated with chronic fatigue syndrome
People who have experienced trauma and abuse during childhood are more likely to develop chronic fatigue syndrome, according to a recent article in the journal Archives of General Psychiatry.
In addition, neuroendocrine dysfunction, ie abnormalities in the interaction of nervous system and endocrine system seems to be associated with childhood trauma in people with this syndrome, suggesting a biological pathway by which early experiences influence the vulnerability to disease in adulthood.
Chronic fatigue syndrome affects approximately 2.5 percent of adults in the United States, health officials said. Little is known about the causes and development of this condition. Read the rest of this entry »

These changes can be seen in the fundus examination by an instrument called an ophthalmoscope, which allows visualizing the retina and its vessels through the pupil.
These injuries occur primarily as a result of hypertension, but it seems that other factors, such as arteriosclerosis or older, may influence its development. Successfully tested against Parkinson’s disease therapy
Researchers at the Molecular Research Center Fontenay-aux-Roses, tested in monkeys a new treatment that prevents the involuntary movements that accompany Parkinson’s disease.
A study published in the journal Science Translational Medicine, shows the results of an investigation by a team of French doctors successfully tested a gene therapy to treat Parkinson’s disease.
To simulate the disease, scientists administered to the monkeys a neurotoxin that causes the disease until the animals showed tremor, rigidity and unstable posture are characteristic of Parkinson’s disease
In this disease, the loss of dopamine results in the uncontrolled body movements. Therefore, the normal treatment is to administer to patients drugs that increase the level of the substance in the brain. However, this therapy does not maintain dopamine levels for normal operation, leading to a disorder called tardive motor. Read the rest of this entry »

What are fungi?
Fungi are organisms belonging to the plant kingdom Tallophites order (along with algae and lichens). They reproduce through spores of a sexual or not, a distinction used in their classification. The most significant feature of fungi is the lack of chlorophyll, so they need a source of nutrition and manufactured organic compounds, behaving as saprophytes when they feed on decaying organic matter or as parasites when they settle on living organisms rather than plant or animals.
The fungi can colonize organic substrates inside and outside homes, in this case involved primarily in agricultural and livestock activities. The most important species belong to the family allergolical Deuteromicetae, but increasingly have to take more account of other families.
How can you identify mushrooms?
We can now determine the prevalence of fungi in the environment through different methods. First, it may be useful to direct microscopic counting dust samples for viewing hyphae and spores. Secondly available culture methods for growth and identification of fungi. Finally, there are effective volumetric collectors when the number of spores is important. Read the rest of this entry »
